Full bathroom remodels, from tear-out to the last tile

Flow Home Services is a bathroom remodeling company based in St. Petersburg, Florida. We take a bathroom back to the studs and build it again. Waterproofing, tile, flooring, a vanity, trim and paint all come from one company. Most bathroom remodels start with a new tile shower and work outward from there.

Your bathroom might be the hall bath in a 1950s block home or a downtown condo bathroom. We look at the job, talk through tile and finishes, then put the price in writing. Estimates are free, and you can start one by sending photos and a few notes by text. The same company takes handyman work in St. Petersburg, so one call covers repairs and remodels.

What a full bathroom remodel includes

A full bathroom remodel starts with tear-out. The old tile, the old vanity and the old floor come out, down to the studs and the block. Then the room gets built back in order, and waterproofing goes on before any tile.

Our tile showers start with a waterproofing membrane on the floor and behind the wall tile. A recent one got large-format marble-look porcelain on the walls and on the ceiling. It has a built-in niche in the wall and small white tile on the shower floor. There is a window inside that shower, so every tile around it was measured and cut to fit.

After the tile comes the finish work. That means the vanity and cabinets, the mirror, light fixtures, trim, the door, drywall patches and paint. The waterproofing and tile installation take the most days on the job.

Bathroom remodels in older St. Petersburg homes and condos

St. Petersburg has a lot of 1950s to 1970s concrete block homes, plus 1920s bungalows in the older neighborhoods. Their bathrooms are usually small, with one window and a tub in an alcove. A small bathroom remodel keeps that footprint and changes everything inside it.

Bigger tile with fewer grout lines makes a small bathroom read larger. A niche in the wall takes the place of a shelf in the corner. Swapping a tub for a walk-in shower opens up the floor, and that work stays inside the room you have.

Plenty of homes near the water were gutted after the 2024 storms and are still being rebuilt. If your bathroom is already down to bare studs, we can build the room back from there. Condo bathrooms work the same way. If your building has rules for work hours or the elevator, tell us early.

What drives the price of a bathroom renovation

Room size matters less than what goes into the room. Tile is the biggest driver of a bathroom renovation price. Covering the walls and the ceiling in large-format porcelain is more work than tiling a tub surround.

What you pick for the vanity, the mirror and the light fixtures moves the number too. So does the shape the room is in, which nobody can see until tear-out day. All of it goes into a written estimate before any work starts.

Timing works the same way. A full bathroom remodel usually runs a few weeks, and the tile sets the pace. Every bathroom is different, so you get a schedule for yours once we have seen the room.

What does a bathroom remodel cost in St. Petersburg?
Every bathroom is priced on what it needs. Tile is the biggest piece, then the vanity, the fixtures and the shape the room is in. We look at the job and give you a written estimate for free. For market ranges, read what a bathroom remodel costs in St. Petersburg.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A full bathroom remodel usually runs a few weeks, from tear-out to the last piece of trim. Tile sets the pace, because the waterproofing, the mortar and the grout all need time to cure. Your bathroom gets its own schedule once we have seen the room.
Do you handle plumbing and electrical work?
We do the surfaces and the finish work: waterproofing, tile, floors, vanities and cabinets, drywall, trim, doors and paint. Plumbing and electrical are separate trades, and that work is not ours. We walk through what your bathroom needs when we look at the job.
Can you remodel a small bathroom without changing the layout?
Yes. Most small bathroom remodels stay inside the footprint you already have. New tile, a walk-in shower where the tub was and a different vanity change how the room feels. The walls stay where they are.
Do you remodel bathrooms in condos?
Yes. We work in condos in St. Petersburg and the towns around it in Pinellas County. Condo bathrooms are often small, so the tile and vanity choices matter more. If your building has rules for work hours or the elevator, tell us before we schedule the tear-out.
How do I get an estimate for my bathroom?
Call or text (727) 404-7164, or send photos of the bathroom through the form on this page. Photos and a short description are enough to start, and the estimate is free. We are a disabled veteran-owned company and work in English and Spanish. Ask about kitchen remodeling on the same visit if that room is next.
